Resumen de Moonlight Mahjong

Moonlight Mahjong es el popular juego de Mahjong Solitaire en 3D creado para el iPhone y iPad... ¡ahora para OS X! Juega al estilo arcade con niveles progresivamente difíciles, o relájate con uno de los modos de juego no competitivos. La jugabilidad es simple pero adictiva.

Originalmente creado para dispositivos iOS con pantalla táctil, Moonlight Mahjong en el Mac aprovecha al máximo un trackpad multitáctil, pero también se puede jugar con un ratón. El control intuitivo te permite inclinar y girar en realidad virtual, permitiéndote ver más fácilmente las fichas en el tablero.

Moonlight Mahjong en el Mac presenta cuatro tipos de juego:

Modo Scramble (el predeterminado): Haz coincidencias más rápido que el oponente automatizado "Tilebot" a través de niveles cada vez más difíciles. El tablero se reorganiza automáticamente cuando te quedas sin coincidencias, haciendo que este modo de juego sea fácil (¡para empezar!) y divertido. Una vez que hayas puntuado lo suficiente en el juego, también puedes comenzar en el Nivel 11 con "Lion Scramble" o en el Nivel 21 con "Dragon Scramble".

Modo Challenge: Compite contra Tilebot en modo rompecabezas completo, sin reorganización automática, solo deshacer. El desafío requiere más estrategia que Scramble.

Modo Puzzle: Resuelve tableros de rompecabezas sin límite de tiempo. Elige cualquier diseño que te guste; sin puntuaciones altas.

Modo Relaxation: Limpia tableros sin límite de tiempo y reorganización automática cuando te quedas sin coincidencias. Perfecto para cuando simplemente no estás de humor para planificar o apresurarte.

I've been a fanatic of 3D interfaces for over a decade. Why they aren't already standard in OS X and in a multitude of applications is beyond my comprehension. We live in a 3D world. Let's work in 3D on our computing devices already! Sticking to 2D, or even worse 1D thinking is ridiculous. Therefore, despite the well described minor problems with this game, I consider it to be BRILLIANT! I enjoy playing it immensely. The best feature is having to manipulate the wonderful models to discover available tiles you'd never see in a mere 2D game. This game proves that all the gestures required to manipulate a 3D GUI exist right now and they're FUN! I highly recommend this game to every living Mac user if only to get everyone used to 3D interfaces and what we can do right now with them by way of touch and gestures. Please developers! More applications and games like this ASAP! Thank you Michael Howard for this great idea and great implementation AND making it free. It's worth paying for! (^_^)

There is a fundamental error within this game.. which can be seen from the snapshot provided on macUpdate: You can identify tiles by their corresponding marble texture. I can identify ALL tiles by looking at their sides. A simple solution would be to use multiple materials. A base material, your marble texture, which can be applied with random settings. Then, your tile texture and normal map.

Nice, but overall not to my taste. As noted by others, I prefer all core functions by on the screen as buttons, links, context menu options, etc. I'm not a fan of shortcuts as a first line control model. As to the 3D, it has been pushed too far in this application. Such frills quickly reach overkill and produce interference in functionality and ease of use where board, tile, dice, and card games for computer are concerned.

For free (at least for now), this is pretty sweet. I would request that the game have an auto-pause feature, rather than having to either press the key combo or select "pause" from the menu. (Or, at least, add a "pause" button to the main screen.) It was a bit annoying to leave the game, come back, and discover it was already over. (That was before I discovered the pause requirement.) But overall, this has nice graphics and game play options.
